Sports Day

Today all the students spent the day with their host families, so there are no photos of the students to post.  Dana started the day at dawn with a walk to Mister Donuts (the only place open).  After a properbreakfast we visited the Martial Arts Hall where we watched high school students practicing Kendo (sword fencing) and Kyudo (archery).  Later we explored the downtown and Fisherman's Wharf areas.  We also went to the neighboring hotspring resort town of Wakura where we found some outdoor footbaths (very relaxing for tired feet!) and tried our hand at octopus fishing (no luck).  Dana and Tim Ashida were interviewed about the JW program for an upcoming local radio show.
